Labour introduced legislation which arguably was beneficial.

The National Health Service
Health and Safety at Work Act
Consumer legislation including Unsolicited Goods & Services
Tests and restrictions on Heavy Goods Vehicle drivers and enhanced testing on the vehicles
Subsidies for rural bus routes but they enacted the Beeching cuts
and they nearly got away with restrictions on trade union activities that were actually enacted by the conservatives

My assumption that his money is running a bit low was, of course, a parody.  He is, without doubt, exceedingly rich.

Bliar, in common with most, if not all, ex-PMs, has benefited financially from his tenure of that position.  I can suggest, without fear of contradiction, that few, or almost certainly none at all of such senior politicians are pecuniarily disadvantaged!

I could also add that even TwoTierKeir, despite only having held such an immensely elevated position for one year, is almost certainly to be already rolling in money beyond imagination!

Some would suggest that a person having led this country, even for only one year, in such an exemplary fashion should deserve to become a multi-millionaire.
Should he hell!

He was hardly short of s bob or two well before he became PM. Nor was Blair but I doubt many have enriched themselves as much as he did unless they were well off before.

Indeed.  For most, the 'honour' of leading this country into either success or failure is certainly remunerative... regardless of whether they result in success or failure!
I am quite sure of which particular outcome our present incumbent deserves.
