Quote from: GrannyMac on Yesterday at 02:54:15 PMWe had white doors like that between our sitting and dining rooms two houses ago.  I liked them, but they took ages to paint! I don't enjoy painting or any form of DIY.
It's the prep work and tidying up that irks me.

After taking a good half hour to put the masking tape up, I took it all down as I've decided to go with Dexi's idea of fairy lights.

I've put an undercoat on the radiator, a new one would be too expensive for a bay window.   I'm getting there slowly !

Am well impressed that you took if off the wall (only to discover the inevitable nightmare of filth behind it)

Alex

I didn't take it off the wall Dex, it's too heavy.  It had to come off so the walls could be replastered.

Ah.  For what it's worth, if you've got a healthy helper, I'd take it outside and flush it through with a hosepipe.

I'll ask the plumber when  he comes back  :upvote:

Good idea.  Worth flushing the system out now and again and adding some chemicals.

I stopped doing that now. Far too many calories and the old flushing out is more difficult than it once was. Ah the perils of aging.
