When I was younger and fitter I travelled a lot  and my opinion is that compared to other countries we can be happy that we have the chance of living in Europe. I first realised this when I was in China. Have you ever thought about the reasons why immmigrants prefer Europe to  Russia and China? Before the fall of the wall my Hungarian relatives always dreamed of living in a country like ours where you can express your opinion without having to fear that you are arrested.
It's true there's room for improvement for our government and yours, but if you are honest would you like to change placces with your prime minister?
I think you might just have answered your own question 🤷🏻♂️

Very unlikely, anyway he couldn't afford me.

You are a man of your word, full of honour and resolute determination.

Would 4 cans of Stella do it?

Two additional tinnies and a donner kebab, if you'll dress up in your uniform and wear that facial camouflage.

A granny got 18 months in jail (or thereabouts) for a social media post that she deleted soon after posting it...

Tell me again just how free we are here please.

There is another example in the Telegraph this morning.
A young woman stood up to a shoplifter and was consequently punched about her face.  An explicit picture of her is included, showing the damage.  The 'police' were called who too little notice of the shoplifting, but warned her about doing what she did.  Since then, no shoplifters have been caught by the police and little or no notice has been taken by them of her descriptions of the thieves.  The same shop, like many others, now simply turns a blind eye when shoplifters are about.
The situation in this country now is that if someone thieves from a shop the police take no interest and worse, as long as the amount stolen is below a certain value, neither the police nor the courts are interested.

Yes indeed.  I have seen so many examples on the telly of how today's police seem to have no idea of the law of the land and our legal freedoms.  It suggests to me that so many of them these days appear not to have been trained correctly how to do their job.  I find this quite worrying now because I'm sure that one day I will be minding my own business and doing nothing wrong when, for some reason, some uneducated copper will come along and ask me for my name without actually advising me what I have done wrong.

I am not one to go around trying to right wrongs and I prefer to keep myself to myself, but from what I have seen I am beginning to worry about what could one day happen for no apparent reason.

There is one in Altrincham, not far from us, where we have been near - on other business of course!
I can assure you that it is relatively safe providing there are lots of British people around and it is during dayling hours.
Interestingly, I have not happened to see any police in the vicinity for some reason.

I went to Altrincham with some friends for some lunch and libation last Friday afternoon (barely a stone's throw away from Cresta Court, although I didn't physically check the accuracy of this assertion).  All very pleasant around the market place and surrounding area.

It's only a few weeks away before schools open up again, and there will be a plethora of young girls about.  So far, apart from a bit of worrying behaviour, there doesn't appear to have been any major concerns.

Given the proximity of some fairly rough and tumble lads and lasses in an area not too far away, if anything does happen I suspect it could kick off big style.

A free Country is living in a country  where you can express your opinion without having to fear that you are arrested.

Rose Docherty, 75, was arrested after police were called to reports of an anti-abortion protest in Hardgate Road in Glasgow, near the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital February 2025

Hamit Coskun, arrested - a 50-year-old man charged with a religiously aggravated public order offence after he burned a Koran outside the Turkish consulate in London. The case has sparked fears that England and Wales are on the brink of reviving blasphemy laws by stealth, despite having formally abolished them in 2008.

Lucy Connolly 41, arrested she was sentenced two years and seven months in prison for posting on Twitter. A post she removed after 2 hours. This followed the murder of small children in Southport.

Ansu just a couple of incidents showing what is happening in UK now.  There is no longer free speech here when people can be arrested for a Facebook post !
