Now you can't get your money out the bank.

Woke to this on my FB Feed this morning. Very tempted to take it all out and just keep it at home. What if you suddenly need a dollop of cash and the bank won't let you have it? :yell:

Is it mentioned anywhere else other than Facebook? Watch out for some kind soul offering to look after your cash for when those rules appear.

Had a quick look and found this

No idea how reliable fullfact is though.

Mups

I have just rung Nationwide and asked them about withdrawel limits, and the girls said it is still -

- £500 limit at the cash machines
Larger amounts at the counter but you might be asked for ID if it was a large amount.

I could always ask my 'adopted' grandson if anyone is worried,  as he works at their Head Office.

The extra hassle of getting some cash out will be nothing compared to the hassle of dealing with being scammed.

I had enough trouble last time I needed a couple of grand, I know the cashiers have a job to do but this one was heading for a clout round her ear, she didn't want to hand it over to me. It ended with the supervisor getting involved, I got the cash eventually but it was with very bad grace. I dread having to do it again. I'm thinking of getting another car and if it's a garage then there's no problem, but up here a hell of a lot of things are private sales, cash on the nose when you buy.

Keep your wits about you and you won't get scammed. Anyone askes me for personal details they get hung up on. You get told left right and centre "DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL DETAILS". It's everywhere.

Different world to me then Raven.  Can't remember the last time I handled actual cash.

Farmers Dex Farmers, cash deals are the way they run. :busted:

Just been and checked the back of my purse, £130 tucked in there. I wouldn't ever want to be without cash.

Dextrous63

Yep, I can understand that cash is king out in the sticks.

I use my Debit card...
I can get cash from the Co-op..
I can draw out a few thousand from my Santander account
with no problem.. Proof of identity.. ( drivers license)...password..
I can transfer money using my phone..
I can check my account count instantly .

I seldom use cash. I haven't heard about any change ..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

You need to make your cap more visible. Seed it with some coins. Make sure a couple are pound coins. Try different punters - don't assume Waitrose is the right doorway to sit in. Not worth going as downmarket as Lidl but maybe Tesco would be woth a punt

Based on observations going into different supermarkets.

That's very kind.  I might actually get some new elastic bands for my home made shoebox sitar.  There's only so many tunes I can elicit from the current two strings.

These, so called, beggars that sit outside some shops are a bloody eyesore..

I was on a train heading back from Brighton when this cheeky bugger... cap in hand went through all the carriages ... People were putting money in his cap.. He certainly played up to the audience..
Who were sitting comfortably ... unable to walk by...
Did I put money in his cap ?   Yes... he had a lovely smile... Nice white teeth..

I'm a tight wad and don't carry cash anyway so I never do. I'm expecting beggars to start taking card payments any day.

Dextrous63

My view is that if I see a beggar smoking, drinking and with a mobile, then they have more spare money than I do.  I'm nearly tempted to ask them for a handout.

I think it's easier to send cash to yourself through Western Union than it is to get it out of the bank. They want to know the ins and out of, well you know. A colleague told me they wouldn't let him pay it in without identification. There is no doubt that the ruling elite want to abolish cash, but I would advise them that it can't be done; cash is a natural phenomenon (well coins are) and if the king doesn't make it, someone else will, guaranteed.
