There is a mad pheodphile loose in The Highlands. How did they have the nerve to do this when the lads parents were in the tent right next to him.

I can't see anybody would be stalking random campsites. I imagine he is either very local or more likely was staying on the campsite and this will be quickly cleared up.

Trouble is middle aged bald blokes of average height are hardly rare or would stand out in a crowd. Plus I doubt that the site will be overly stringent in checking identifying  or even recording who is staying.

Terrible.. Bloody terrible..
Children love sleeping in tents when they are camping..
I don't see anything wrong with the parents letting their son of 8yrs sleep in a tent near to theirs..
It is a sad day when we have to watch EVERY move our children make because of a disgusting bastard hovering about..
I do so hope that the family are not made to feel like bad parents..
I bet he is long gone..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

muddy

I agree but I would have his tent right next to mine like 6 inches away .

I don't think I'd have felt safe having my 8 year old in a separate tent !   What an awful thing to happen to that family on holiday.

I hope this fella is caught pdq.  Stocks, cat o nine tails and keel hauling in shark infested waters would be my sentencing.

By all means have your own vile and perverted thoughts but, ffs, in the interest of humanity don't act upon them!!!

Or me!  I agree, poor kid.

We had a big family get together a couple of years ago at our son's and all the kids were in one very large tent in the garden.  They were teens down to about ten, and loved it!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I agree, Alex.

I somehow doubt if this is the bloke's first offence, and if he isn't caught, I doubt it will be his last, either.
People like that don't change overnight.

People like that can't change. Something went wrong with the wiring of their heads and nothing can fix it.

My mother used to say to me (alas, not always to much avail🥹), "you can't control your emotions, but you can control what you do about them".

Seems to me that those who have shown they can't  control certain urges, to the extent that they actually ruin other people's lives, should not be shown any mercy at all.

I'd agree.

They cannot be changed and the only way to stop repeat offending is to lock them up. There are surgical alternatives that may reduce inclination and ability but that would require legislation that our rather too inclusive society is unlikely to countenance.

:upvote:     I  have always said this.
But it will never happen while the people in charge of applying this type of law are MEN.
