Chaos on Virgin Atlantic flight

A bunch of nine drunken teenagers were causing chaos on a Virgin Atlantic flight to the UK.
Apparently they had used fake ID's to buy booze before they boarded,  then managed to smuggle it on board with them.

When they reached Heathrow the Police were waiting for them and they were arrested.  It seems they were all from wealthy American families.  They had their mug-shots taken along with fingerprints and were put in police cells to sleep it off.

To teach them a lesson,  (and I thought this was the best bit),  was at first Virgin refused to fly them back to the States,  but later relented,  but took their revenge by putting them on nine separate flights to all different states instead of letting them travel together again.   Then their wealthy parents were told to go and collect them.

They were dropped off at Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta and JFK which was thousands of miles away from their homes.
Then the parents had to fork out for fresh flights to get their kids back to  L.A.

Serves the buggers right.  And I do hope that teaches them to grow up,  behave on planes,  and not endanger everyone else.

It sounds an ideal way to deal with the wee Scunners.

What a brilliant film that would make..
I bet they weren't so smug when Virgin put them on separate flights..
They should have been heavily fined...

Aren't they lucky to have Mummy and Daddy to bail them out.. !!
I suppose it is something amusing that will be discussed over many a dinner table..
Something to tell the grand kids..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

They were lucky. There have been times when a crew judged a passengers behaviour to be endangering the flight. That can lead to a flight diverting and landing at the nearest airport and the penalty then can be a lot more than a night in the cells and a fine. These days flight crews have no sense of humour with drunken antics.

Plenty of stories about this sort of result - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=flight+diverted+drunken+passenger&hl=en

Me too.
I bet their parents were not too pleased at having to get them back home themselves, too.

Excellent news.  Well done, Virgin, a brilliant idea.  Leave their punishments to their parents - assuming, of course, that they don't take after their parents.

Why didn't we put them in luxury hotels, I don't get it.
