My friend Shaun

I have known Shaun from way back when we were kids in the street.. 
He is my dear friend and we often pop out for a coffee..
We talk of what we are doing and going to do.. we chat about the grandchildren and friends from the past..

Lately I have noticed that he is becoming very forgetful.
I mentioned that I was off to Birmingham ..The Black Museum.. We spoke of it.. 
When I returned home after a couple of days... there was a message on my landline phone.. He was asking if I wanted to go for a coffee.. I phoned him and told him that I had been in Birmingham... He wondered why I hadn't mentioned it to him..
There have been other times that he has no recollection of..
He remembers the past ,way back, but his short term memory is getting worse..
He is 76...  He is only a friend .. I know he has children..
I do hope they are keeping an eye on him..
It's all very sad..

Scrumpy, I'm afraid that I am the same: I remember things from the past but my short term memory is failing, and I'm only a young man of 72.
It doesn't seem to worry me, but I'm afraid that it worries Marge.  I don't think there is any cure for it.

He talks of his children.. They are a close knit family.. I would never get involved in anything concerning something as sensitive as this..
 I giggle about it with Shaun..  That seems to be the way he handles it..

JBR... It doesn't seem to worry Shaun either.. He tells me things over and over again..
 And it is always a (brand) new conversation to him..
Perhaps It is more common than I thought..

I can remember facts, figures, appointments etc with no problem but I'm finding that sometimes I can't remember names.
