Scrumpy

I often tell myself.. 'Finish the job and then you can have a coffee'.. I make myself do it..
Put your sweatpants on without holding on to anything.. You must not topple..
Stand on one leg whilst cleaning your teeth..
and climb the stairs without holding onto the handrail... Then come down again ...

Do others on here do this.. or am I stupid.. ?

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I do sometimes. You're definitely not stupid Scrumpy!  Standing on one leg is recommended for oldies, it helps with balance.  I try to get dressed without sitting down.  I can't do stairs without the handrail, arthritic knee is painful.  I do book three sessions most weeks in the pool, feel great afterwards and sleep better too.

I gave myself a goal to lose weight, and I did it.  Just over 3 stone, gone down two sizes so I need new clothes! I'm enjoying buying 'medium' instead of 'large'.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I rarely finish a job these days, I get distracted so easily then find I'm asking myself (out loud) " now what was I doing? "

I agree with GrannyMac, Scrumpy -  No you are not stupid at all.
As Granny said,  some of these things are recommended for us old fogeys to keep practicing.

I must admit though,  it made me smile when you said . .  "climb the stairs without holding on to the handrail, then come down again."    Sounded like we have to fall back down.

My balance is nowhere as good as it was when I did my Yoga,  and this left ear not working is not helping as when hearing is one-sided, for a few seconds it can make me feel off-balance.

I am actually in the process of registering for an Otago class.  I used to that a long time ago.  Its not hard, or  strenuous at all, but has some helpful balance movements, and until I get my hearing sorted out I daren't do anything too wild and wonderful.

My favourite is to go upstairs to either do or fetch something then spot another task which I'll do then go back downstairs  forgetting the first. Obviously I remember when I get down at least sometimes or I wouldn't know I do this

The other one is to open a draw or cupboard and can't remember why. I do a little later sometimes but not always.

I think it must be a virus of some sort Klondike,  because I suspect most of us have exactly the same symptoms.

When you skid in the mess and fall over might work. Or you could write a note in it while you are down there.

No you're absolutely NOT stupid, if you don't move it you lose it!
Did you know that your quads (thigh muscles) are the most important muscles in your body as you get older; strong thigh muscles and you won't fall (with a bit of luck!)
Squat down slowly as low as you can and come up again, hold onto the back of a chair if you have to, several times night and morning!
I do try the stand on one leg whilst cleaning my teeth but I'm rubbish at it!
