We bought a new car last year (just been in for first service), a Skoda Fabia.  We are limited to size as our garage (ca. 1930) is relatively small.  Apart from anything else, we don't need a big car: no children, two cats (but of course they are small), and rarely have to carry a big number of things.

One problem arose a few weeks ago.  I bought a plank of wood which I wanted to use to make shelves, and which was just long enough to fit into the car, so its front end sat on the top of the panel just under the windscreen and unfortunately created some shallow scrapes in the plastic.  Does anyone have any ideas how I can best fill, or at least make invisible, the shallow scratches?  I was thinking about some grey shoe polish!

Here y'go  JBR.    Here's the stuff.
Don't know why its such a funny long link,  but it works ok.?

Really?   Oh dear,   sorry JBR,  I didn't study all the pictures.

I'm sure Halfords would have something suitable though.
