What has gone so wrong with so many youngsters these days?

In Gateshead on Friday night,  a 14 yr old boy was found dead after a fire at an industrial estate.

Fourteen children have been arrested aged only 11 - 14,  on suspicion of manslaughter.

Zero parenting and zero discipline either at home or school. They grow up thinking they can do anything they like and most of the time they are right.

Yes,  I agree.
Now I wonder what on earth the law can do with a bunch of 11 yrs old though?

10 is the age of criminal responsibility but it won't be as unpleasant for them as it would have been for me at age 11 for sure.

I bet the whole truth will never come out.. Far too many involved... Children can be be crafty little sods..
I doubt they will break under pressure because I doubt there will any pressure involved...
They are far too young and delicate....
Any punishment will be a (care home) of some sort..
Nothing too harsh though.. A place where they can be seen by others as heroes..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I fully agree, and have said as much about the lack of discipline these days, whether that is parents, schools or even the law.  Surely, by even the softest laissez-faire people are beginning to realise that this is not working.
Of course, it is not only children as I'm sure that this is rubbing off on young adults as well.

I'm sure that these particular young criminals will not suffer any real punishment and, consequently, will go on to enjoy themselves even more.

The thing is children need supervision from adults otherwise they just grow feral especially boys .
( think Lord of the Flies )

In some primitive African villages boys leave their mothers house when they are about 11 and go to the men's house where they are given all sorts of arduous ( and often dangerous)  tasks to fulfil in order to pass the manhood requirements .

This keeps them occupied and saves the mothers all the difficulties of seeing to an adolescent male child .
One passing out from these rituals they are men and are expected to behave accordingly

Children today don't get that focus attention especially from fathers who are often absent .
Mothers too work and care often is left to young girls in playgroups .
Teachers of young children are mainly female ( who would be a male teacher these days anyway )

Even when both parents are present they are often too tired to give their offspring attention and leave them to their own devices ( often electrical full of nasty violent content )

How many parents know what their kids are watching ?

Children need activity , physical interesting ,tiring they need good men and women to guide them .
They need parents who parent .

There should be more schools like the Michaela school!  Traditional values, high behavioural expectations, great results.  It's a community school, in Wembley, free, not an affluent area, that has great results.

Its is also secular, it won a court case last year when it was taken to court by a Muslim pupil because of its ban on prayers.

With its brilliant Head teacher Katherine Birbalsingh .

These kids have all been released on bail at the mo.

Out on bail !!!... Of course they are..
No one person will be blamed because no one person will be named..
I doubt they will stick all of them in a secure place..
The truth will never be known.. and they will be free to brag of their (game)..
The parents will always blame another child.. never their own..

We use to deal properly with brats like these, In Perth there was a school called Balnacraig where the females who couldn't behave were put. There was also one for boys on the outskirts of Perth. These were no fun place to land, the staff wouldn't put up with crap like today's kids get up to. If you were punished believe me you were in deep trouble.

I'll lay odds that the one who died was part of a group of 15 who started the fire, but he didn't get out for some reason so he's just as much a waste-of-space as the other 14 are.
