No doubt Mumsnet followers are about the age of some of our grandchildren though.

I've never been on this "mumsnet" , nor have I shopped in "Primark" I like "George" "Bonmarche" and "Matalan"  :busted:

klondike

Primark is cheap and cheerful. Price takes precedence over quality.

M&S used to be buy once get bored with it after 20 years and then the charity shop you gave it to sells it for more than you paid for it in the first place. That had changed a lot before they started shutting down everywhere. There could possibly be a connection.

The thing I always noticed back in the day when there was one within 40 miles of me was that all the posters inside were piccies of at most 30 somethings and often younger while most of the customers in the shop were 50+.

The cyber attack on M&S has caused a Percy Pig shortage...
The Co-op has also been a target ..

The hackers are a notorious gang called Scattered Spiders... It is a form of blackmail..
The gang are mostly teenagers..
There are some brilliant minds out there that's for sure...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Mups

Yes,  I heard about the Co-op.

These hackers must be quite brilliant though.
What a pity they don't turn their minds to good causes instead.

Ruthio

First M&S, then Co-op, now Harrods

Mups

I heard about Harrods on the news tonight.
Makes you wonder if this is just the start . . .

I don't suppose they know who is behind all this yet,  do they?

klondike

Scrumpy said above that it's a teenage hacker gang after money.

Alex

On the radio an 'expert' said it was likely Double Dragon, allegedly linked to the Chinese state security.

Whoops,  sorry,  I missed that somehow.

If that much is known,  I wonder why they haven't been arrested yet?

Alex,  not sure I agree about them being 'mumsy,'  as I usually feel most of their fashions are designed (and modelled)  for the  stick-thin teenagers.
In fact I actually asked  them last summer if they no longer stock clothes for the more 'mature ladies'  anymore.  Same with Primark.

I agree about M&S. Youngest granddaughter has had lots of Primark clothes, as klondike says, they're cheap and cheerful.  However she's now a teen and getting more picky, which equals more pricy.  We're talking Hollister, or White Fox.

I buy quite a few from supermarkets.  Sainsbury's, Asda, Tesco often have quite nice clothing. I recently bought a nice top from the Next outlet shop at York.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

The charity shops around here are pretty good for clothing..  Some items still have the price tag on..
Though I do find that some charity shops charge far too much for items that have been purchased in cheaper stores.. My favourite coat coast just 15 pounds ..
My Italian friend always looks at the makers label first before buying.. What a load of crap.. Nobody sees the label anyway..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Alex

I don't bother with labels, but your Italian amica might have a point as the designer/better labels are usually  better quality material.

Scrumpy

But.. no but... It might be an ugly frock.. !!!
Bugger the label.. I would wear a Primark frock if it was the right one for me..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
