Quote from: dextrous63 on April 16, 2025, 09:32:05 PMIt's a mystery.  Just about every poll I've seen of late suggests that 80+% of the population are pissed off by it.

Heck, enough people were so peeved that it was a significant contribution to Brexit.

It is a significant contribution to the rise of Reform.

It led to riots in the streets last year.

And still our politicians refuse to do anything meaningful about it.
Indeed.  Things are becoming rather worrying.  If these criminals (I don't use the word loosely) continue to arrive here in such numbers, I really can't see what we can do.  For some reason, sending them back across the Channel now seems impossible.

Even if Reform is elected to be our next government, I can foresee no easy way of restoring this country to how it once was.  Thinking about all that has happened over the past twenty-five years, I sometimes think that the country may never be able to return to the days when things were safe and happy here.

Apologies for being so negative.

Quite. You should have that as a signature instead of that Latin motto thing you use.....

Why is it so difficult to trace where these dingies are made and sold ?

Not illegal to sell them though.

I suppose buying the factory might be of use for several self evident reasons.

I'm guessing China - most stuff is these days.

Not a good idea,  money down he drain.  Haven't we wasted enough money on them already?

They'd only start another factory somewhere else.

I used Latin for two reasons: it looks more 'educated', and the 'wrong' sort of people seeing it probably wouldn't have a clue what it says!

As for the dinghies, it doesn't matter where they come from (though I suspect that 'our friends', the French, are probably supplying them for nowt).  The best way to stop the invasion, as I have said before, is to turn them around mid-channel.  After all, we know that they are attempting to come here illegally.  How many other countries would happily invite them in, and help them in, if they are attempting to enter illegally.

Actually, the Labour government probably do see them as friends, and of course future supporters.

Blowing it up would be a better idea .

Quote from: dextrous63 on April 16, 2025, 06:20:05 PMWho determines whether they have a right to come here?  'Cos that sounds mighty iffy to me.
Idiot judges like Rebecca Chapman who has just allowed two Albanian lesbians to stay in the U.K. because Albania is too conservative .
Actually Albania has laws forbidding discrimination against gays for the past 30 years .

These dinghies are no Trojan horses.  They are a very real threat, as I'm sure we have all seen.

The Trojan Horse was a very real threat as it lead to the downfall of Troy. The dinghies likely won't lead to our downfall but they are a considerable security and financial threat.

I'm not sure.  Give it time, give them the vote, give us more inept politicians and wait and see.
I'm not exaggerating, but I can imagine the possible eventual entry of Britain into the Third World.

Does anyone actually frisk these dinghy folk when they arrive?  If not, it seems a particularly simple way of bringing in particularly noxious and/or explosive and/or firearm materials to the uk.

klondike

Some may bring in something far more dangerous than firearms that is very unlikely to be detected. A fierce hatred of the western way of life and it's people along with the knowledge and willingness to kill without the need for a firearm.

dextrous63

Exactly.  Moreover, if a couple of hundred people each bring in a small amount over a few weeks, then that's potentially at least one mightily large destructive device.
