I've always called them rolls.   In South Yorks, they're often called breadcakes, which isn't on that list.

JBR's picture looks like wholemeal bread rolls to me.

Tea cakes are nothing like that.
Tea cakes have dried fruit in them and are nice toasted with butter.

We call them Rolls..
Teacakes here have fruit inside.. We have them toasted ..

I've heard of "Barm cakes"  from up north somewhere and I see they get a mention but I'd assumed they were cakes and that doesn't look like what I'd call a cake. 

Roll, Cob or Bap would be words I'd recognise for that.

I have heard most of them used in different parts of the country, but the ones I had not heard of before are:
Buttery, Oggie, Stottie, Batch and of course Bin Lids.  I suspect that the latter is only a joke!  Anyone here from Liverpool?
