Anyone any good at maths?

Everything is dumbed down these which is probably why they avoided that highly technical term maybe only covered at doctoral level these days - percent.

Alternately the newscaster had an arts degree so didn't understand the concept.

I was frighted by the teacher too he was sinister and sacastic. ( amazing he was in charge of 11years olds) 
After that even with the advent of less scary teachers the damage was done .
So even though I was in the top group ( I was bottom of it ) 
I could never work out which angle was which and problems of trains and cyclists approaching each other left me stumped 🙁

Relating to the original post. What it shows is not that we are good at maths or not. It shows that the journalist who wrote it was not good at English. Probably couldn't spell "tenth" or had a certain number of words to write with insufficient material. The result is "word salad" an expression I picked up during the American election campaign.
