Scrumpy

When I was ordering coffee the other day at a garden centre I was asked if there were any allergies..
First timeI have been asked this question..

I also noticed that before paying with my card there was Yes /No buttons..
I had to press Yes if I wanted to pay a tip , No if I didn't  ..
I hadn't even been served .. just an order taken..
I'm sure many customers press Yes because they feel mean if they pressed No..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

It's one of the few things I keep cash on me for.  I'd rather tip at the end, if the service warrants it, and also be sure that every penny I give goes towards the server. Up to them if they put it into a general pot afterwards.

I wouldn't like to be asked about a tip before I had even had anything, Scrumpy.  That would put me right off.
Besides,  I think it should be up to the customer entirely whether they feel like leaving a tip,  and I think it is wrong for the establishment to badger customers in this way.

Anyway, if extra money is taken from your card for a so-called 'Tip',   how do the owners actually pass it on to the  waitress I wonder?

We had just popped into a Squires Garden Centre..
We only ordered coffee and that was at the counter..
It wouldn't take my card until I pressed the  YES / NO button..
I wondered why .. and the assistant pointed it out..
I pressed a red button that meant NO.. Green button was YES..
I would have need my reading glasses to see it..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
