A wee poem from me

Inspired by our limerick writers, and my visits to the Leisure centre!

I go to an oldies exercise class in my local pool
Its very popular, it's nearly always full
Mary and Bet talk non stop, but still
Keep in time to the music, unlike Jean and Lil
Ellen jumps all over, to her there are no rules.

Susan wears full makeup, her lashes make some waves
Jenny likes to sing along, she's no voice, but she's brave
Liz can't see and Pat can't hear
Ann jumps in the deep end without any fear
Hoping the young lifeguards might want to make a save.

Bill stands quietly at the back, he does enjoy the class
But as the only fella, he feels a bit of an ass
Next to him is Christine, who Bill would like to date
And tiny little Maureen, in the shallows, she's often late
The instructor tells us what to do, she's quite a scary lass

Twice a week the classes run
The music's good, we have some fun
Then we have coffee and a chat
About holidays, grandkids, this and that
Then we all go home, exercise done.

The exercise bikes at my gym look over the pool. I've noticed that that sort of class is 100% female with likely the same sort of characters attending.

Almost 100%.  There is one regular man, and an occasional other.  Well done them, with about 40 women!

If you were in Sutton I'd be wondering if that solitary bloke was Brian. I'm sure he was regularly posting about being the only bloke at some activity or other.

Zumba probably. Actually the bloke who comes regularly brings his wife who needs help.  I used some poetic licence in my little ode. 🙄
