From what I read about these fires (in GBNews), the fires spread to a woman's house in California.  In desperation, she tried to put the fires out using water from her mains, but it had been cut off by the local council.  It appears that she tried to carry her blind son out, but failed because she had a broken arm and ran for help.  Sadly, before she could get any help, her son had died in the fire.
I much prefer snow storms to wildfire.

I also fear for the animals, pets,  and wildlife,  but they rarely ever get a mention in tragedies.

Someone has been arrested dressed as a fireman to enable him to steal

I heard a bit on the news today about looters being arrested.
It didn't say whether they are taking stuff to try and sell,  or whether they are starving and need food?

This seems to be one of the problems of concentrating all power into one pair of hands.

I read today about some of the so-called 'Celebs'  not making themselves very popular, by wasting water.

It seems there has been conservation measures in place since 2022 due to a 3 yr drought in California,  but some of the celebs have been ignoring it and using as much water as they want simply because they know they can afford the fines.   Ms Kardashian lives in a £50 million pound mansion and has been fined for  using 232,000 gallons more than her allocation.    Sylvester Stallone is another one been fined for this.
Some of the wealthy ones have been paying for private firefighters too,  at £1,600 per hour!

I see Harry & Megan have been there, taking food parcels to the needy too.

Now some people are saying that this bright red stuff the planes are spraying could be harmful as well now!
What a dreadful mess.  It's going to take a long time for them to all recover from this.
