Just heard on the news that our wonderful new government has come up with one of its bright ideas.

The plan is to allow prisoners to leave the prison during the day if they promise to come back in the evening.  An excellent plan to reduce prison overoccupation.
Only Stammer's government could have come up with this plan!

Outstanding.  Will they let homeless people and pensioners to use prison facilities during these hours, so they can use the laundry, canteen and somewhere warm to sit and chat for a few hours?

How about not having prisons nor police at all?  Make it a free for all.

Aha... a template for all prisons to follow.

QuoteA female prison officer has been arrested after she was allegedly filmed having sex with an inmate in his cell.
Police launched an investigation after explicit footage of the female guard and a "burly, tattooed" male inmate was shared with prisoners at HMP Five Wells, in Northamptonshire.
HMP Five Wells, a "super-jail" which is run privately by operator G4S, was opened in 2022 with a "liberal" regime that describes offenders as "residents".

Despite costing £238 million to build, the super-prison that houses 1,700 men is one of 15 jails listed by the watchdog as being "of serious concern" – the worst grade.
At its first inspection of Five Wells in January, HM Inspectorate of Prisons said drugs were freely available and there was a failure to get inmates into education and training classes.
The watchdog also warned that inexperienced staff were not enforcing proper behaviour, self-harm was too high and healthcare provision was inadequate.

'Really shocking'
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It is really shocking, especially after scandals at other jails. And things are clearly so lax in there that they think they can be doing this all day, messing around with members of staff."
A spokesman for HMP Five Wells said: "A prison custody officer has been suspended and arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate."
Earlier this year, Linda De Sousa Abreu, a 30-year-old prison officer, pleaded guilty to misconduct after having sex with an inmate in a cell at HMP Wandsworth in south London

Perhaps that's what they are working round to.

Pity the majority is so big. We should be able to guarantee several terms of Marxist free government post Starmer but only if the country survives and that majority suggests that despite what is being done the current government has plenty of time left to destroy us.

A free country but only if you come here by dinghy

Yesterday I walked through M & S

I wanted some fruit but didn't go to their dept as it is great but expensive and I would be tempted to buy stuff I don't really need .

I saw today an article showing a shop lifter filling his bag and pockets quite openly from M & S

The staff could not stop him and we know the police won't .

Is this what we want ?

Yet more thieves at lose to help themselves to stuff which we can't afford ?

Police failings push up prices. Time Chief Constables were made more accountable and sacked with no pensions if they fail as badly as they are doing. Won't happen obviously.

Trouble is that if police did catch criminals, the courts have nowhere to put them once convicted.

Perhaps this idea of using prisons as some kind of half-board all inclusive hotel would alleviate the need and opportunity for certain forms of crime to be carried out as a need/lifestyle choice.

The problem is whether such a freebie way of life for essentials (warmth, sanitary conditioned, safe, access to health services, access to cooked food, etc etc etc) would deter criminals from reoffending once released.  I have my doubts.

An excellent article by Coliin Brazier on GB News today.
This gentleman, like me, was brought up in 'the multicultural laboratory' of Bradford.

To be honest, he was very fair in pointing out what we should all be aware of: that most immigrants from the third world come here to work and have assimilated successfully and contributed to the good of the country.  The real problem which continues and, under 2TK, has increased enormously, is illegal immigration.  These people are preferentially provided with attractions including free accommodation usually in hotels, whilst many of our own people are living in, if anything, poor housing or even worse.

One important point which he explains is that our white British people, generally speaking, choose not to have a sufficient number of children. The average, apparently, is between 1 and 2 (nearer to 1) per couple.  Consequently, our population is in decline which is probably why 2TK and the preceding Conservatives are actually encouraging literally masses of illegal immigrants.

So why do people choose not to have more children?
Well I leave this open to discussion, but I believe there are several practical reasons why white British people are not reproducing to the necessary extent to provide a sufficiency of working people in this country.

Apologies for straying from 'prison population'!

Not sure if I would physically try and stop anyone either, Muddy.
I know that sounds awful,  but I would rather be a live coward as they say.
I wouldn't want a knife stuck in my ribs,  thanks.

I wonder if the shop's insurance covers injuries to staff who tackled  shoplifters?

Our local Co-op was raided last week.   Broken glass everywhere outside where they smashed the window.
It was the alarms going off that alerted neighbours,  but this was in the early hours of the morning when the shop was closed, so at least no one was injured.

I don't believe for a minute these robbers are poor people who can't feed themselves.  They are thieves who take as much as they can just to flog it.
