Scrumpy

This is the first year that I have walked pass people collecting for charity outside of Morrisons and looked them in the eye..
I don't feel embarrassed or guilty about it anymore..

The charities on the TV, usually of an afternoon when oldies are watching, ask for pounds and mostly it's for other countries..
Our leader can't look after us so why would they think we can look after them !!
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Raven

When down in Perth your tripping over them at every supermarket. I have seen for myself they get dropped off by a foreign bloke in a big posh merc around 9am and picked up again around 5pm.
These people are being worked by gangs and they don't get the money they collect, every penny is taken off them at the end of their day. I feel sorry for them they have probably been lured here by the promise of a better life and end up being forced into this.
But I won't give them any money to pass over to their bosses.

Corruption prevails in this country today.

It used to be that you dropped a couple of bob in a tin, now they want you to sign up to a direct debit !
No way Jose

I keep walking past the Arab woman begging on the steps of the shopping mall here .

Whining and pleading for the love of god for arms ( when not chatting on her mobile )

I am not heartless but I prefer to give by DD ago the charities of my choice .

I've heard this before, Raven.

Someone in a posh car was seen picking up beggars outside Asda a while back.
It was one of the girls on the tills who told me this.

There are loads of "reels" on social media sites of this sort of organised begging.

The charities that I was referring to and I can now walk pass without feeling guilty are our own charities.. That must sound terrible but that is the way it has become.. They want you to sign up and pay.. pay pay.. Once they have you in their grasp they become greedy and ask for more.. more..
Foreign beggars !!.. I can easily walk pass.. Without any care..

Local animal charities win with me every time.. I always help them..
What I have noticed is the food boxes for animals seems to have been taken over by food boxes for people..

Those that give their time and money to care for abandoned and abused animals deserve HONOURS for sure.. Not those bloody powerful , greedy people at the top..

Sorry about the rant..

Last time I was down in Perth I was in one of the big pet stores, they had charity boxes out for pet shelters ect, well filled with food ect I always donated to the animal ones. Maybe that's where you're going to find them now.

Alex

I've had a couple of direct debits for charity since I was working and I've just carried on, it's only a couple of pounds each so I don't miss it .  If I see local hospice or animal tin shakers in the supermarket I'll donate. One of our local animal shelters has a page on Amazon where you can buy food or other items for the animals, this is a good way of collecting I think :upvote:

What really pixxes me off is those (usually) national charities wanting you to take on a direct debit   No thanks

No way will I sign up for DDs. I contribute to quite a few charities, but try to make sure that the money goes to British causes
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me
