A few years ago, some local kids made a dummy speed camera out of a cardboard box painted yellow, and placed it on a telegraph pole near their house. It was surprising on how much it worked until the killjoy Kirklees council made them take it down.

A few years ago, some local kids made a dummy speed camera out of a cardboard box painted yellow, and placed it on a telegraph pole near their house. It was surprising on how much it worked until the killjoy Kirklees council made them take it down.

What an excellent idea!  We have a telegraph pole at the bottom of our drive, and the road here is often used by speeders (though not in the rush hour for some reason!).
Next time we're out, I'll have a good look at the speed cameras so I get a good idea of their appearance.
