A little five year old called Nancy ( I think)  on the radio today told Zoe Ball
'I saw the REAL Father Christmas'  She was so excited and almost smug in a childish way..
Zoe Ball acted with surprise and asked where she had seen the REAL Father Christmas..
'At the garden centre' was the reply..

Wonderful..  That is what the magic of Christmas is all about..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

We'd told my youngest daughter that if she listened carefully out in the garden she'd hear Santa's sleigh bells in the sky far off.

She listened.
She heard them.
I asked her a few years back if she remembered and she did but still can't explain them.

I didn't tell her about the new housing being built over the back from us. They had put up flagpoles and some metalwork on the ropes was clinking on the poles. Santa's sleighbells is a much better explanation.

B'ah, humbug.

You should have told her the clinking was the handcuffs knocking against the gibbet while a crook was being hanged.

Children say the funniest things..

Martha was telling me how much she loved me..
I answered that I loved her too..
She thought about it for a while then said..

' If my friend had a party and it was your funeral.. I would go to your funeral'
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Oooh Scrooge!  :boo:
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Lovely story, it's great when kids still believe in Father Christmas.   My grandson leaves a beer out for him and a carrot for Rudolph.
