Just reading they underestimated the oil deposits around the Falklands, it's thought to be £74 billion !
double the output of the north sea.

I'm sure we can all imagine what Argentina is thinking!
I wonder whether we'll be seeing a second Falklands war.
I also wonder whether we still have the resources to defend them.  😮

We should make friends with Argentina it is the country of the future .

Yep. They will be super oil and gas rich as they don't have tossers in charge. I do wish we could give them Milibabd and Starmer instead though.

Ah, the old SLRs.
Since I left, they have replaced them with a shorter-barrelled rifle.  I assume less encumbering, but perhaps less accurate?

The snipers get different kit. Those are mostly just used to make the other lot get their heads down. I doubt many get hit with any infantry rifle at much range and at short range a shorter weapon is better. I don't know if the British army uses them but some Yank infantry uses shotguns.

I was living in Germany when the Falklands war was on, my next door neighbours had visitors staying with them - from Argentina  !! It was a bit strained at times.. This was when all the soldiers drove round in BFG cars, and the number plates singled them out as British soldiers. I think they adhered to this daft system until a soldier was shot by the IRA while waiting at traffic lights, his was the only car in line with BFG plates.

I had German plates so didn't have any problems back then.  Sorry for the ramble.........memories !

I thought that the Geneva Convention banned shotguns in combat, along ith dum-dum ammo, etc
