I'm sure many of us have thought of an invention which has yet to be designed, yet alone made.  I think we could start a thread, listing them.

My first one is based on my recent habit of cutting the plastic rim off these new fangled plastic screw tops before even opening the bottle, thus reverting it to the old fashioned style which worked very well indeed, thank you very much!!

It occurred to me that someone could easily change the design of wine bottle foil removers so that they could do this task effortlessly.

It would also have the advantage of indicating to whatever bureaucrat that dreamt up this stupid policy in the first place that they can shove it where the sun don't shine.

Dropping cutlery.. scissors.. or anything that involves bending down to pick them up.. !!
Searching on the floor for that spoon .. those scissors or eye tweezers that were dropped a week ago and still can't find them... !!

Problem solved...
A giant magnet that can hang from a piece of elastic (Fits all sizes) that is tied around the waist ..
This can be worn with any outfit.. Dress , trousers or shorts..
So versatile.. can be worn indoors or outdoors.. Out shopping !! or Line dancing.!!
You will be surprised what you can pick up after just one day..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

You be careful, Scrumpy.    If any of those strange members of the opposite sex have a lot of loose coins in their pockets,  your magnet might pick them up as well.
Do take care.

         What? . . .  That's the very thing you should be afraid of . . .

Well I hope you enjoy it, Mr. Dex, and then you can leave the more intelligent things to us ladies.

I shall now have to mop the floor, having sprayed a mouthful of coffee after reading that😬😬😬

For those who are really posh and have silver cutlery, it won't work. Silver isn't magnetic.  🧲
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

It used to be only the new penny and twopenny coins that were magnetic but when I checked after seeing Dex's post before making a smart arse reply I found some of the so called silver coins are including the the newer £1 ones but oddly not the £2 ones at least in the selection that are still in my parking machine purse.  I suppose I should spend those coins. And get a better hobby.

dextrous63

Not sure what any of my replies have got to do with it, but thanks for the coin info.  Are £2 still around?

klondike

There are still some in my car park purse. I hardly ever use cash these days. Waving plastic is easier and mine pays cashback too.

Apologies for confusing you with Mups and Scrumpy too for looking back it was they that mentioned jiggling coins in men's pockets with magnets.

dextrous63

No problems.  Was trying to think laterally to see what ferrets had to do with magnets😬😬😬

Yes, I had forgotten about that.
I don't think I have even seen any 1p and 2p coins for a long time.  Most people seem to chuck them in the charity boxes... if they happen to be good, generous types.

Oops.  I misread 1p and 2p coins as £s.  Silly old me.🥹😳
