Three months back we had probably the most unpopular government in my memory. Now we are looking at a government trying hard to beat them in the unpopularity stakes.

There has to be a reason for this but that reason seems to elude the politicians yet is clear as day to everybody else.

Funny old world indeed

The first 100 days have been a disaster for Keir, he's bound to be replaced sooner rather than later.

preferably by Yogi Bear - he couldn't do worse!
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I am beginning to think that people go in to politics simply to make money for.. themselves..
They have a secure pension.. many, many allowances..  a car at their disposal.. security..
and the best seat on the bus..
I doubt any party is different to this..
Their intentions are well meant when they first take office.. Then GREED takes over..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I agree.   Greed, power,  and prestige. That's all that matters.

Let's be honest here - would you be turning down the goodies?

Oh it's not an excuse. He is a rich enough man to easily be able to afford the goodies (well maybe not owning the mansions but he could certainly afford to rent somewhere nice).

Him taking them just reveals his character and imo that sort of character is not the sort of person who should be PM.

Rayner has certainly got her snout into the trough.

And she has a serious sized snout.
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

It always feels far tackier when the Socialist are grabby.  It's more expected of the Capitalist Tories!

Politics these days is very lucrative, therefore it attracts the kind of people who couldn't earn £92 grand + exes + donations + private income by doing a proper job. Once the gravy starts to flow, corruption sets in.
