Reform UK plans to bring a private prosecution against the men who attacked police at Manchester Airport. :upvote:

Eleven weeks since the incident yet no arrests have been made.  The whole thing, including witheld footage is very fishy

My limited understanding is that the CPS is waiting for the outcome of the IPCC investigation to determine whether they'll prosecute.

Don't ask me why🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

How long does such an investigation take ?

An investigation will take as long as the people who are investigating still get 'back handers'..

Everyone is on the make..

Farage has upped the ante by bringing a private prosecution. Not sure if he will succeed but he will highlight Starmer's lack of leadership.

Apparently the CPS can hijack this prosecution if they so choose and then simply drop it !  :lipsrsealed:

That would make an excellent news story. I wonder if the BBC would run it.

Alex

The CPS has the power to prevent a private prosecution by taking it over and discontinuing it – but such a move would be considered highly controversial in this case.

Let them try.  It will be in all the press (except perhaps the Grauniad) and I'm sure that we shall all be able to make our own opinions of it.

I used to subscribe to the Eye but no more. That became insuffereable for me in the Brexit years.

I don't understand it .
People get arrested for filming stuff but break a police's officers nose and it takes months to decide ?
Something is not right here .

Agreed.  I hope Reform's actions open up a real can of worms.

The figures, which include local elections, now seem to be showing a steady increase in support of the Reform UK party.

The Conservatives have, of course, lost a great deal of support thanks to a succession of five useless PMs, and the natural path for their disgruntled supporters is toward Reform.

The Labour party under Two-Tier is managing to upset just about everyone, not least the farmers, and so it is inevitable that they are losing support right, left and centre.  There will remain, of course, the staunch lefties and many of the mass of legal immigrants who will show their gratitude and support, but I feel sure that Labour will be out at the end of these five years.
It's really a matter of how much more damage they can do before that time.

The problem is come the next election the Tories are going to say "The only reason you got Labour was because you voted Reform"

The bigger problem is the short memories of the hard of thinking electorate may well result in them beling believed.

It's a big ask but the only way for Reform to win is for them to totally discredit both parties. Despite their 14 years of failure and performance at the last election the Tories are still  polling higher than Reform who will probably not stand a chance until they are polling top consistently. Both big parties are going to say vote Reform get [the other lot] and may well be believed. We need PR but we won't be getting it.
