I think they'd have a field day. A comedian's dream.

Trouble is for the rest of us he's no laughing matter. He has his pedal to the metal on further decline of this once great country. Not that it has been all that great in my lifetime under any of the pigmies that have followed the giants.

Churchill nailed it with this was our finest hour.

I don't think he's funny .
I thought he was a decent man but now I'm not sure.
With those two sidekicks Rayner and Lammy he's dangerous .

Quote from: klondike on September 24, 2024, 01:26:05 PMI always assumed that Kuenssberg was a dyed in the red socialist. Maybe she is and thinks Starmer is too far right or perhaps a LibDem. Either way it's good to see him getting a kicking from a BBC journalist.

For the past 'N' years, Kuenssberg has been and is a real lefty. Not surprising, as it's the standard BBC Jobsworth employee profile. Perhaps the end of the Wicked Witch 'Maitlis' and that sad old has been 'Jon Sopel' of similar distraction has perhaps altered her's and her biased employer's viewpoint? After all the numbers deserting the 'licence fee' in droves, should make them feel a cold draft, bigoted as they are.

That said, Starmer's self convincing ability to actually believe in his lies and direct contradictions, seems now pathological! I believe eventually this will destroy him, from the inside out. He is hypocrisy walking and Reeves and Rayner have truly stunned me with their brazen and wilful supportive deceptions. Lying openly in direct contradiction to statements made by them all only weeks previous; proclaiming the exact opposite to what they are declaring today. Cheap, shoddy and for an officer of the court, (in Starmer's case) professionally despicable, he shames my former profession.

Is politics nothing other today, than the art of deliberately lying?

I think it's more a case of them getting worse at it and being caught out these days. It seems that politics - especially lefty politics doesn't attract the sharpest knives in the block. Lammy Rayner Abbot as quick examples. Just as big a selection on the right. Johnson was supposed to be bright but I never saw much evidence of that. Most of the rest in recent years talked the talk but singularly failed to walk the walk.

Well said.
I believe that we haven't benefited from beneficial government ever since Thatcher was stabbed in the back.

Major was a bit of a nonentity, Bliar was absolutely damaging to the country, Brown was also a nonentity and a fool.  Then we come to the Conservative era.  Cameron was sufficiently hopeless that he was given a seat in the Lords by our last PM, May will be remembered for her destruction of our police forces, Boris was a bumbling fool, poor Liz Truss didn't last five minutes, and then we had Sunak, another nonentity.

I'm sure we all have our own opinions of our present glorious leader.

Starmer certainly ticks all the boxes that define a sociopath.

You want to see some of my spelling these days. Getting worse as I get older. :boo:

I recall watching QI once, and they explained that an octopus could be trained in a few hours how to open a screwtop jar.  The only problem is that it'd have forgotten how to do it by the following day.

I wonder if politicians are genetically linked to octopuses.

Oh I'm sure sociopath is the correct spelling for Phil's diagnosis. Mine is a lot less technical.

Was there anything in the jar of use to an octopus? Maybe they are smarter than you think and it was a case of Fool me once...

Good question.  Dunno.🤷🏻♂️

Today, two of the lot that threw paint at a Van Gogh (Anna Holland & Phoebe Plummer) were sentenced to 20 and 24 months. The frame a beautiful thing in itself cost £10,000 to restore, the painting was protected.

Plummer, representing herself, told the hearing: "My choice today is to accept whatever sentence I receive with a smile". She has no idea what awaits her! They'll never be quite the same when they get out and may undergo a different type of 'conversion'.

😬😬😬😬

Not entirely sure that she understands the meaning of "choice" in that particular scenario.

Never mind, they'll be out well before Xmas and will carry on regardless!
