Can't remember who told me recently, but apparently some fireworks are set off so that local yoofs are aware of where the drug dealer is currently selling his gear.

Ey?       Don't get that?
If I hear fireworks going off,  I usually have no idea where they are.   You just hear a series of big bangs in the pitch dark,  but how do you know where from -  not unless they were right next door.

I think that sort of suggestion appears when somebody thinks everything they read on t'internet must be true.

Mind you truth could be stranger than fiction - after all the idea works for ice cream vans.

It might have been my daughter who told me that, and since she knows people who inhabit that sort of culture, it may well be true.
