My mother was a pianist and used to play this sort of stuff (not jazzed up) in my formative years Alex.  During the electricity strikes in the 70's, it was a thing of beauty to hear her play Chopin in our blackout'ed house.  She always said that playing with the lights out was for the best. 

I miss those days.

We used to listen to the Jacques Loussier trio, OH was a fan. I like all sorts, Finbar Furey's Sweet Sixteen is special Scrumpy.  Country, some classics, American songbook, big bands/swing, some pop. If its quality it's worth a listen.
