Speaking yesterday to a friend .
Her son who had a good but boring job says it was killing him .
I felt so sorry I would hate a boring job and have to do it for life .
No wonder people prefer to claim benefits .
If the alternative in a soul destroying existence why do it ?

Lots of us have done boring jobs, or jobs we dislike.  Some of us do dangerous jobs. It's how we support ourselves, and the families we choose to have.

If your friend's son had a good job, he would be well paid.  Perhaps he could have worked at something more interesting but less well paid?

Benefits should never be a choice IMO. They should be  stop gap for anyone capable of work.    Obviously there are exeptions for disability, seriously poor health etc.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Compared to the time when I was young, young people have such a lot of alternatives now, so if he thinks his job is boring, why doesn't he look for a more interesting, however, maybe not so well-paid job  or do something that he enjoys in his free-time.
My former boss always said - young people want to have fun in their job - but every job has good and not so good sides.

Imagine the miners going to the pit.. working in the dark.. Doing a job that can be potentially very dangerous.. Their life is always black..
They had little or no choice but needed to feed a family..
That's what I call a boring job..

If the boy you talk of thinks his job is boring he should look for another..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

That is exactly what he is doing .
He is retraining to do something else .
Luckily his parents are suporting him while he is doing this.
