If current trends continue there will be no audience - mainly because there will be no population. The west is facing an extinction event.

I haven't watched it for years. But from the bits I've seen on the News I'm not missing anything. It seems to have descended into a who can be the biggest idiot competition. Load of tosh.

I only watched bits of it because there are so many  noisy songs, and exhibitionist singers,  that it's hard to find anything decent that I'd like to listen to.

And another moan -  it all seems about sex, sex and more sex,  instead of singing beautiful songs!
It's nothing but Noise,   flashing lights, men in frock's, and who can thrust most!

Perhap's I'm just feeling me age.

Israel gets top public vote from 14 countries in Eurovision – plus 'rest of the world'

Voters in Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK give their highest points to Eden Golan

Switzerland may have taken the crown, and Croatia narrowly won the popular vote, but Israel received top points in the televote from the highest number of countries — including the "rest of the world" — at the 2024 Eurovision on Saturday night. After months of calls for Israel to be banned from the international song contest, voters in 14 different countries — out of 37 that were eligible to vote — plus those in all non-participating nations as a group, handed the most possible points, 12, to the Jewish state. Overall, Israel's Eden Golan finished fifth out of the 25 competitors in the Eurovision grand final this year.Ultimately, Israel got top marks from voters in Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, plus the "rest of the world" aggregate. It also got 10 points, the second-highest possible, from Albania, Austria, Cyprus, Czechia, Moldova, Slovenia and even Ireland, considered by many to be one of the most anti-Israel countries in Europe.

I'm so glad Israel did well, even if they did have to change the title of their song, 5th isn't bad.

For Muddy !! remember this one from  1979  ?

I'm very pleased to hear about this.
This would suggest that there is still hope for humanity, and that those biased protesters are actually in the minority and should be treated appropriately by the silent majority of sensible people.

Yes. This. Well said.

We recorded Eurovision, couldn't watch much, Cass and Mups I agree.

Whatever happened to Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnston? 😂
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

JBR

I agree.  I haven't watched it for years.  Even when I last watched it, the so-called 'music' was, shall we say, not entertaining.
I suppose I may be biased, though, as my preference is for classical/baroque and earlier organ music.  I don't think that Eurovision does that sort of thing!

Judging by Saturdays performance it's doesn't do music generally .
Cats fighting are more musical and less pornographic that most of the acts .

Were I still a practising RC it would be definitely several years off purgatory.

Mups

I really do think the Eurovision's had it's day now, and it's  time to knock it on the head.

Diasi

On reading the headline I thought she had got millions of votes from the UK public but it seems that she got 307 votes from a selected panel of so-called public voters.
