Beware.. It's too quiet..

A woman on the radio said that living in a quiet area will encourage house break ins..
Apparently her area is much quieter now the road is no longer used by main stream traffic.. and she feared more house break ins.. She said that being a busy road  discouraged break ins..
 
The more traffic and people around surely will provide the thieves to blend in with their surroundings and a ladder against any property will go unnoticed..
If an area is quiet thieves will stick out like a sore thumb..

Personally I don't think the thieves care either way.. Nobody takes much notice as to what is happening in someone else's back yard anyway..

Some years back following gales there was a big van parked right up against a busted garden  fence that backed onto a busy road. Turns out the people were away and the van wasn't full of new fence panels it was full of anything worth pinching from the house. I only heard the tale so some details may be wrong.
