Thanks Granny.
I tried the Epley Manoevre, but unfortunately no improvement (perhaps I didn't remain in each position for long enough).  Later on, I felt a little better so got out of bed.
I'm happy sitting here on the settee but, unfortunately, when I stand up I go light-headed though I can walk around carefully.
Marge and I have talked about this and feel that it is likely to be a viral infection.  I'm not taking anything to fight it other than an anti-emetic pill, so for now I'm hoping for my body to fight it naturally.  If no improvement tomorrow, I'll see if I can speak to a doctor.
