Now my microwave combi oven has just stopped working.  There are no lights on it, no buttons work, but when I open the door the turntable starts turning !  how odd is that ?

Alex

Yes, only way to stop it is shut the door

klondike

Is it actually on then - fans going and stuff gets hot.

No, none of the buttons work or lights so no heat.  I've had my monies' worth I reckon, off to Curries web site then.

Somebody was moaning that they've gone up, I know basic ones used to be about £20 -£30, When I was in Asda the other day (only a small Asda) it looked like a basic one is about £50 now.

I've ordered the same one, my lad says I'm daft but it's been great until now.

It's likely only an internal fuse has blown but the question is why did it blow. Plus the casing in microwave ovens need to be leakage free or the stray microwave energy can apparently damage your eyesight.

How can Microwaves Damage Eyes by Radiation Leakage?
The eyes are one of the sensitive parts of the human body. It has lesser blood vessels when compared to the other parts. Lesser blood vessels indicate that no heat transfer takes place through the blood flow.

So, the areas with less blood flow are likely to get affected by the damage very easily.

The continuous radiation leakage from the oven causes cataracts in the eyes. This makes our vision blur, fade to colour....etc

Gawd I've only just got rid of cataracts I don't need any new ones, thanks klondike.
I'm picking the new one up tomorrow, at least I'll know the workings already.

That was me, a couple of days ago. Still feeling like I've been mugged.  [1050]
