Bitterly cold again here.  -3 last night.
Snow forecast for tonight.

Amazon are supposed to be delivering a couple of small things today,  bet they come the minute I nip up the Co-op.

It is 1 °C at the moment, it snowed a little yesterday, and it is still
frozen there. We are low in this town, so I expect there'll be a lot
more uphill about a mile out of town. When we lived in the country,
about 3/4 miles out, the difference was aways obvious.
My poor carer was very cold when she arrived this morning.

Had a brief snow shower around eleven, but it didn't settle

Same here Mike, it looked lovely too but didn't settle.

It was forecast here for around 9 pm,  but nothing's happened yet.
I went and got some bread, milk, and visited the cash machine,  just incase though.

Has anyone seen any gritting lorries round their area?
I haven't seen one single gritter round this way.

P.S.  I like that picture at the top of the page of all the oldies having a kip.

P.P.S.   Klondike,  have you changed the sign in page?   It looks different.

klondike

You shouldn't see that one. You should be dozing off.
Nor the bedtime one...

Had your sparky round to replace that dodgy open sign. I was getting complaints about it from the folks across the street. They said that blinking was driving them potty.

Cheeky monkey.

What bedtime one?  There's only all the oldies asleep in their chairs?
Anyway,  I really am  'orf  to my beddy bize now.    Goodnight all.

Dextrous63

Been a weird couple of weeks.  Will edge my way back in shortly.

GrannyMac

Hope you're ok Dex.

Light snow here last night.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

klondike

Had some here too overnight. I didn't see it before the traffic got at it. Now it looks more mucky and annoying than pretty.  :shh:

Minus 4  on my garden thermometer this morning, and overnight snow which is only just beginning to melt where the sun is touching.  In the shade it is still all white and crisp.
I am glad I went to the shop and the cash machine yesterday, as my car is covered with snow at the mo.

Still haven't seen one single Gritter about.   I assume its more council cut-backs, as they always used to come along my road.

Have a good day folks,  and be good.

klondike

The heat from burning EVs melts it soon enough in the danger hotspots

Have we any ex-plumbers here?

If so,     How much should it cost (approx)  to have someone supply and fit a new radiator,   roughly  4ft long x 18" deep.
I have found one that is going rusty, so a bit worried it might start leaking.
Is there much labour involved, because that is what usually puts the cost up?
Is it a pricey job?

Dextrous63

Highly unlikely that surface rust will lead to leaks Mups.

Anyway, a standard 4' by 2' radiator costs around £70.  No idea what sort of valves you've got.  I'd gamble a guesstimate of £150 labour.
