Ours is too.  No elections here this time.

Quote from: Vlad on May 02, 2025, 09:58:19 PMI have approx 40 years of rubbish, all of it precious, it will be heartbreaking emptying the shed..I have wood in there, I know that if I throw it away I will NEED it the very next day
You sound like my OH.  Our new shed is full of everything from the old shed.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

My ex husband was like that it was awful, he squirreled everything away just incase.  :nooo: Kitchen drawer, cellar, cupboard and the old kitchen fitted into the big shed. He would chuck stuff I needed to make room for his rubbish. The final straw came when he was actually in hospital and I had a load of his stuff to move out of the shed before I could get the lawn mower out, I just snapped that day, didn't cut the grass but started bagging up all the junk he'd stored. I only kept tools and one big box of mixed nuts/bolts. I phoned my old neighbour who worked on the Council's Special Uplifts (free then) and he swung by a wee while later to lift the stuff. 25 black bags, 6 boxes all full of junk. GONE  :yahoo:
As expected Fred hit the roof and we had a massive fall out BUT, I didn't care, I made a deal with him.......If he actually needed anything I'd chucked in the next year I would personally replace it. Guess what.....He didn't need a thing.

It was all very quick, the 'for sale sign' boards hadn't even gone up, just about two weeks on the market and sold to first time buyers. There were quite a few houses for sale that ticked the boxes and in the price range. Looked at 4 and fell in love with one...big garden , pond with Koi..huge brick shed and a greenhouse, so I am a happy bunny.

It's a bit cooler here today,  but still nice though.

Been to visit a very ill friend this morning.
Now I'm back home, and  going to cut the grass,  and fiddle about with my plants for a while.
They are forecasting only 3° here tonight!

By the way,  has anyone noticed Dex seems to have gone AWOL?
Hope his Mother in Law's alright?

Dex appears to have deleted his user account here. I have no idea why.

Has he?  I can't think why.  I have been away for a few days, so I've lost track of happenings, but I wonder whether someone has upset him.  Looking back a few days, he seems to be logging in as a guest.  Perhaps a problem with his computer?

Just had a look.
Gertie Spartacus  - (a.k.a. Dex) - is still listed.

Vlad

Ah, just chatted with him he says he his taking some time off.

I do hope that he is alright.. He does have a lot on his plate at the moment and sometimes we need time out from chat forums..
It is sad that he has deleted his user account though...

Thanks.  I think that's reasonable, especially as I have just done the same (for two days).  On the other hand, I can't think why he would delete his account.  Perhaps, like a caterpillar, he's in the process of morphing into something more beautiful!  🤣

With his Mum in law ill he's got a lot of toing and froing to do, I also think he said he was going to decorate her flat.  Do hope he comes back though  :upvote:

Lot cooler here today, just in time for Bank Holiday.
