Quote from: Scrumpy on April 07, 2025, 01:18:54 PMI have been working in the garden painting a very low retainer wall.. I was sp pleased to get it done.. My lower back was damn painful..
Had something poking in my back last night.. most uncomfortable.. It turned out to be a clothes peg that was in my pajamas..

Could have been worse.

It is a chilly breeze here as well, Scrumpy.

It's a bit sad when the highlight of my day was going to the Co-op.

I dread to think how my body will react to me returning to the pool after weeks off, those daily 50 lengths will be so far away. My legs are a lot stiffer than what they should be and my breathing is dreadful.

Another glorious day.

Up early.  Chores done.  Off for a swim in a bit (don't know about you, but I no longer count lengths and opt for swimming (currently, early days though) for 30 mins non stop).

Tuition ( in Gatley, just off the Kingsway JB) before lunch.

Few more odd jobs round house.

That's it.

Have a good 'un.

Opticians. If I can find my way there

14 hours of it will have made you go blind.😬😬

What a change in the weather today, it's dull and grey, and only 7 degs here at the mo.  It feels really cold after the glorious days we have been having.

My Ocado man should be here anytime now,  so packing everything away will be the next job, then taking some Salmon fillets down to my poorly friend.  I order these for her as she can't put an order in just for those.

Still tired today,  I could so easily have slept on . .  and on . .

Weather app onmy phone suggests a brief return to warm then chilly again.

Soon be warm enough for me to risk adding a radiator. Easy enough job but if I mess up I'd rather it be when I don't actually need the heat.

Beautiful day, I've been pruning. And ironing.  Might pop to Aldi after lunch.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Today was a great day, possibly one of the best days I have had in a very long time, a day so momentous that I want to share it with will all my friends here.
A day that will go down in history.
Today is Thursday, Bin Day, and as you know Birmingham is in week 5 of a bin strike, but ever the optimist I struggled out with my overflowing bin and placed it on the collection point last night.
At approx 1030 that's when the little hand is on the ten and the big hand is on the six, yes it is confusing. ( Note to self the  clock in the hall needs changing to BST.)I heard a rumbling sound outside and lo and behold, a private waste collection truck was advancing down the Close
People ran out cheering, grown men  were seen to weep, babes in arms wailed, women cheered and waved flags. Bin men were hauled from their truck and kissed on both cheeks, selfies were taken with smiling crewmen, notes and coins of the realm were stuffed into their hi vis trousers ..it was such a happy moment, I returned to my humble abode with an empty bin.
God save the King!

When it's 10.30, surely the little hand is halfway between the 10 and 11, and not on the 10😬.

Are private bin men cheaper than public ones?
