I see that David Starkey is being vilified for saying it as it is.

The Conservatives have just lost control of West Lindsey Council, not due to any policy issues, solely due to them being deserted by ex-members / voters like me, who've punished them for foisting an Indian PM onto us.

Whilst many of us merely tolerated a few Asian & Indian Ministers, there was no way we would accept an Indian PM.

I did warn them back in September when they were in the process of ousting Liz Truss.

Starkey's a good man, strong and unafraid to speak common sense on a subject that many disfavour. The 'article' is to be expected, typically the author (Penna) and his respondent Caroline Nokes are staunch remainers, indeed she had the whip removed for voting against Brexit.

Whilst I have nothing against Indians, it was the way he was foisted upon the electorate and Party, together with that pecksniffian object 'Hunt' in a completely undemocratic way. I would prefer an indigenous Britain as the PM.

I don't care for Sunak at all. He is a slick, greasy little pole climber, sponsored by Soros and his father in laws Billions and the 'influences' that can muster.

I watched some of the election results but the sickly Kuenssberg woman and her BBC underlings made me feel nauseous and I had to switch off.

Seems to me that the Tories have lost so much support they are dying slowly but surely as they cram more and more woke legislation (from people like Nokes) over illegal immigration upon a despondent electorate. This was no protest vote, it was a rubicund.

The pathway to more disputed barricades beckons them on their ultimate road to ruin.

I think the Tories chances of winning the next election are scuppered more by the state of the economy than the cultural heritage of their PM. I also think Sunak's fails to connect with the general population more due to the wealth of his wife and him than being a Hindu. No wonder he smiles far too much despite the cost of living with all that money.

Not from the ex-voters I've spoken to, it's all about not wanting an Indian or Asian or any other ethnic minority PM.

It's the loss of the lifelong 'True Blue' members / voters that will scupper the Tories, not the floater voters.

Sir John Curtis reckons that the Tories won't be wiped out by a landslide Labour victory, but rather the 2024 General Election will result in another hung Parliament.

I suspect the kicking out of Corbyn coupled with the likely departure of Abbott will have added a fair few votes for Labour.

But I doubt not enough to replace the votes it's lost them.

I don't like Sunak not because he's a Hindu, I haven't heard of any Hindus trying to blow us up, but because he wasn't elected, by the people or the Tory Party members.  I know it's not important, but I also don't like his little, thin 'stick insect'  look

I agree.
I have nothing against Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, or any other religions... except for one, which I need not name!

No, the loss of support of the Tories now is probably due to the presence of left-wing MPs who are apparently Tory members.  The Tory party is no longer the right-wing organisation which it always has been.
The 'Lib-Cons'.

That is why I intend to vote for the only remaining truly centre-right party next year.  Whether, as has been supposed, that party will not obtain ANY MPs simply because they are a 'minor party', is irrelevant to me.
All I am bothered about is voting for what I believe is the only party who could restore this country to what it once was.
If very few people do the same, that's up to them.
When either the Tories or Labour form the next government, those same people will no doubt whinge about it anyway!

I've transferred my allegiance to Reform who now get my annual membership fee & the monthly donation that I used to give to the Conservatives.

There were no Reform Party members in our area so I voted for Independent candidates.

Good for you.
No Reform members standing here either, so I just wrote 'REFORM UK' on my postal voting slip.
It won't make any difference, of course, but I assume that someone will read it!

Hopefully, they will stand in the GE next year.  I read recently that they are standing over 800 people anyway.

Scrumpy

My Conservative vote will now go to the Reform party too.
I couldn't be arsed to vote in the local elections yesterday..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I suspect that you are all right. The conservative party has a collective death wish and all their failures are compounded by their appointment of a non-indigenous PM in a way perceived to be undemocratic.

These politicians know perfectly well what the common man wants but they serve another master. I think the conservative party knows what they are doing to upset their core voters even better than the labour party does.

Michael Rolls

no elections here, so no vote - obviously! The current Tory party simply isn't a Conservative party that I have known and voted for for over 50 years.
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Conservatives here in what used to be the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire are like hen's teeth. Our council is NOC, Labour, Greens, Lib Dems. One Tory out in the sticks, and thats been pretty recent. The Labour leader has just resigned/was ousted, and the local Labour party has been placed in special measures.   Such fun!
