What a carry on..
The Labour party must be rubbing their hands in glee at the cock ups the government have made over the last few months.. and whether you like it or not, there certainly have been some..
'Bring Boris back' !!  Why.. !!! Why on earth would we do THAT. !!
He got it wrong.. and the public were angry and disappointed with him..
Truss was going to change it all and get us through to next election.. She will be gone within two weeks.. IMO.
They all leave with a nice pension and opportunities to make thousands by  'Speaking' to those who will listen..
Meanwhile the poorer people of this country can expect very little..
We are told lies.. we see promises broken and these so called 'adults' are all arguing amongst themselves..  and daggers are drawn..

Every party knows how to run the country.. except the one running it..
 A bloody shambles...

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

AND, now rumour has it that the Tripple Lock is to be scrapped for good, despite their sound promises that it will stay.
Good old Hunt, isn't he a peach? A rotten to the core one. :nooo:

I have never, ever had any time for Hunt since the mess he made in charge of the NHS when SoS. One of my then correspondents', the GM of a large GP practice (you know, back in the days that GPs actually existed) reckoned that as far as Jeremy was concerned, the 'C' was silent - make your own interpretation - but I found it hard to disagree (and didn't)

Hunt has caused some of our local members to resign & I've informed our Party Chair that I'm contemplating leaving the Party.

I will give it a few weeks to see what happens as I think it carries more clout being a member & threatening to resign.

One thing's for sure, it'll be interesting if we get a 2.5% State Pension rise in April, coupled with the removal of the Energy Price Cap.

They must have factored in that the next election is already  lost. What they must surely be concentrating on is damage limitation. Considering a fair percentage of their voters are pensioners then that would be a pretty stupid move. Mind you ... Hunt? ... Yep it's going.

I'd have thought that keeping the Triple Lock & the Energy Price Cap Guarantee would have given them at least a fighting chance in 2024 & if they do lose then it won't have cost them anything as Labour will be left to sort things out. And if they win they'll have 5 years to sort it out.

It'll be interesting to hear from my MP, he's a thoroughly decent & moderate chap who does say what he thinks & doesn't give us any waffle.

I have to say what I'm seeing as this debacle unfolds and the response to it of so many of my English friends is very worrying indeed. Who appointed Hunt, it certainly wasn't the Prime Minister. Its those who are to the side, no longer MP's but bitter Globalist remainers who can never come to terms with their viewpoint being rejected. They control the MP's through one means or another, either bribery or fear. The way this poor woman, whatever you may think of her has been humiliated by these utter bastards is nothing but disgusting. Next time around I think at least half of our 'generations' will abstain. I predict Hunt, will be the most austere Chancellor ever. You can see from his manor how he revels in scaring people witless, he reminds me of some of the most psychologically unbalanced people I met in a long career in criminal law.

The Parliamentary Conservative Party are so out of touch they actually really believe they'll pull it round by the third quarter of next year! The distrust and hatred created by their sheer arrogance will condemn I believe the party to historic oblivion. Half of them are Liberals and at least a quarter woke greens anyway? What we knew as Conservatism is now a minor composite overall and will be superseded by the Liberal 'Democrats' into either third or fourth place depending on how Krankie & co poll etc.

What is becoming of this world? Over here we have a witless, mentally de-generate geriatric 'supposedly' running things! Europe is nothing more than a shop window for the WEF, Canada and New Zealand are run by shameless ideaologs of soft cell fascism.

I'm glad today, I'm nearer the exit, than where I came in!

Yes Cassandra I feel the same way, it's so sad that our last years should be spent this way in total disappointment.  Most of our generation when we were young had such high hopes for our future, I can't believe what has happened to our once great countries.

Peoples brains have been numbed, they swallow all the rubbish they are told, vote for the old parties who they know will do the same as they have always done, things will never change until people wake up and see who is really ruling the roost, not us for sure.

One thing for sure we are all in trouble, is it enough to bring on civil unrest? who knows.

Scrumpy

... and we talk about how our young people have no understanding  how times were hard for many way back when we were younger..
They are learning fast..

It was more or less confirmed at our constituency meeting tonight that the Triple Lock will go, but the Double Lock will also have to go as that was linked to inflation, so that just leaves the 2.5% element of both of them.

I said that we'll be wiped out in next May's local elections & wiped out in the 2024 General Election.

Word on the ground is that if Starmer gets a big enough majority he'll take us back into the EU.

If he doesn't then he's planning to do a deal with the Lib Dems which will include bringing in proportional representation.

I reckon the threat about Starmer rejoining the EU, is the Dept of Fear scraping the barrel and attempting to caste doubt etc. I think he'd go for alignment with the Single Market and our return to such and therefore membership again of the ECJ. He'd  fall short of full membership this time round, as we're immeshed in the nets of EU treaty gobbledegook anyway. 2029 gives time for many of us to die and for Starmer to brainwash the brain dead via their hand held devices into welcoming the world of Schengan and free roaming.

Two and a half percent for pensioners, after promising the triple lock will see them deservedly vapourised and those that live to 2024 will make sure revenge is theirs to watch.

In a Yougov poll out tonight Labour are presently set for a 364 seat majority (not seats, which today would be 507!). That leaves 143 between the rest. So Krankie will take 59 of them and say 40 to the Libdumbs. After a few Green sprouts and Irish maybe the Tories down to 30 - 35 seats, with SNP or Liberals neck and neck to be the official opposition. They thoroughly deserve "A damn good Thrashing" as Terry Thomas would have said. For them it's most likley to be a one way ticket too, like the Liberals in 1922.

As I live in a constituency that has returned a Labour MP since time immemorial, my vote has always felt like a drop in the ocean. The opposition in the traditionally Labour council is becoming every more Green. At least they organise litter picks!

I'm going to try not to waste any of my shrinking grey matter on the current mayhem that is UK politics, instead I'll concentrate on the good things in my life.

Some MPs have a good friendly rivalry relationship with the opposition & I'm sure that the information has come from a Labour MP, who's confidence of getting into government has been boosted by the recent polls.

Of course, it could just have been a bit of wind-up banter.

Either way, Labour will take us back into the EU at some point.
