I believe it is 70, or 71 they stop sending us the invites for screening isn't it,  but do the majority of women still go after that,  or do you feel it is not necessary any more?

I must admit,  unpleasant as it is,  I still think it's worth going,  in fact I believe I am due  just after Christmas.
I just wish they could make the procedure a bit less painful!

A friend of mine had to have a mastectomy last year,  so it makes you think, doesn't it.

Can you get screening without a invite? I'd have thought you'd have to ask your GP to arrange it as sfaik it isn't a walk in service.

Yes you can.
It's nothing to do with the GP either.

They give you a form with the phone numbers on if you want to rebook next time round.
I will just ring them and then wait for the appointment to come through.
(That's assuming it is still the same procedure anyway).

In fact they told me last time they  had a woman of 84 still  going!

I do exactly the same Mups. I just ring up when it's coming round to three years. I've had a couple of lumps removed, fortunately benign, the first in my 20s. Better safe than sorry.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

It's the same here, just ring up and they'll give you an appointment.  I dread the thought of going tbh, but I guess as GM says, better safe than sorry.

I too just phone up and make an appointment..
I also phone up to receive bowel screening kit..
I do believe that we should follow through these check-ups..

My mate couldn't be bothered to go because she wasn't offered a screening at the same time as me..  She didn't drive and wanted to go in my car.. She died .. aged 62.. breast cancer..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
