I might be dreaming, but there may have been a possibility that Wogan presented the original Come Dancing way back then.

Was he a BBC bloke?  Are you sure? I don't recall him being done for kiddy fiddling.

Dextrous63

He was.  Unusually, he seems to have been a normal, well balanced chap.

Yes, I believe you're right,  it was Wogan.
A popular man with a lot of fans from both radio and televisioin.
He died in 2016.

I have just read that Claudia Winkleman and Tess are both packing up doing Strictly after this series finishes.
Wonder who will take over their jobs,  or even whether the show itself will last another season after this year?   Has it run its course perhaps?

I wouldn't mind that awful, rude, smug, Craig Revell-Horwood leaving instead..

Peter Kaye would be a good choice
The problem with being retired is that you never get a day off

This is one programme I've never watched, except perhaps when Anne Widdicombe was on it !   I know it's popular but does it really matter who the host is  ?   Boy George perhaps ?

I went to see him on stage a few months back.  Somewhat crude, but pretty funny.

You are right.. The hosts do not make the show..
It is the dancers and judges..

I like Boy George.. He would brighten the show up..
I think the show is on it's last legs.. It's had a brilliant run..

Unusually,  I don't agree with you on thos one,  Scrumps,  not about Boy George anyway.

I remember him being on And & Dec's  jungle once,  and he was a thoroughly unpleasant person I thought.
I felt he was all just   Me, Me, Me,  and sulked if he didn't get his own way.
I was not impressed at all.

Also, I think Strictly needs someone who knows a bit about dancing surely?
When they have finished their dances,  Tess always does a bit of a short interview with them before they go upstairs to Claudia and wait for the Judge's scores to show,  but I can't imagine either Boy George,  or Paddy McG  chatting sensibly to them about the performance,   I reckon they would turn it into all about themselves, and their  performances instead.
So we will have to disagree with each other on this one - sorry.

well they were just furniture weren't they what did actually add to the show? As for Craig I like him he is the Simon Cowell of Strictly. 😀
