Quote from: GrannyMac on Yesterday at 02:25:33 PMWell done Vlad!  However, something to remember at our age, 'don't fall'.  I saw a GP on TV a few years ago, being asked the best way to remain active and healthy in old age, and that's what he said.  The damage we can do by falling in old age can be catastrophic.  Glad you had Mrs V holding the ladder. 👍🏽
It was a stupid idea but thank you, it was a job normally done by son in law. Mrs V was rewarded with an egg banjo

QuoteAmber Weather warning for my area, so decided to remove leaves from the down drain pipe  at top of the porch flat roof.....ladder out...and I gingerly started climb to Base Camp One ...bloody scary 81 years of age with a heart condition...I paused at Base Camp One to catch my breath, I decided to make a move to the summit while there was still light I having enough oxygen. After some wobbly bits I reached the summit but realised I had forgotten the flag, bugger, so instead I removed all the debris around the drain pipe I found a number of bones, possibly long lost climbers from a different era. I proceeded downwards..not daring to look down for fear of seeing Mrs Vlads (NCO i/c ladder support) horrified face  .. slowly.. tentatively...step by step, all 5 of them I finally put my slippered feet on solid ground.
We celebrated in the way all British hero's do, we had a cup of tea and a ginger biscuit . God save the King and all who sail on him.
😂 😂
You did better then I did.. I climbed on a stool.. It was bloody high. a good 7 inches off the floor..
I needed to take down the light shade in the loo to clean it..
I managed to look up.. I nearly grabbed it.. I came over all wobbly.. stepped off the stool  .. gave up and had a coffee instead..
I'll try again next year..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

One of my CCTV cameras has packed up. That'll be a ladder. Been too wet and crap lately and I forgot it this morning.

Sounds like a plan, the earth moving for me happens once a year too if I'm lucky, a bit like Santa he only comes once a year too

Be careful, the higher you go the wobblier every gets.

It's not high. On top of a one floor bay window. I suspect it will be water got in the cable joint or it could be the camera itself. I have spares if needed but might look for a better system.

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Tiddling down with rain outside,  with a weather warning for heavy rain and high winds all day tomorrow,  followed by cold and frosts!
I blame Father Christmas.   He does it to make his sledge run smoother.

Michael Rolls

Father Christmas and his elves were hard at work when there was a knock on the door to reveal a man with a shotgun.
' good evening' he said 'I am from the CAA health and safety department to make sure that you are safe to fly over all the houses. Please give me a test flight'
So, FC hitched up the reindeer got in the driver's seat and the man sat beside him.
'What's with the shotgun?' Enquired FC. the man looked uneasy
'Well,' he said'I shouldn't really give you prior warning, but I need to see how you cope if you lose an engine on take off'

Looks like a drive to the gym today and the walk is half the exercise.

There is one reason to be cheerful at least for a while though. The CCTV camera has come back to life.

Alex

Awful day here too, I went down to make coffee and brought it back to bed !

Vlad

I had an early appointment at the eye clinic. The vending machine in the waiting area dispensed two, yes two Kit Kats instead of one, :yay:  and I thought that my wedding day was the best day of my life! Didn't come close.

GrannyMac

God result Vlad!

I'm not sorry not to be going out today. Miserable out there.

Awful day outside but it was to be expected from the forecasts.
Other than taking Gertie to the vet this afternoon,  I don't think I will be going anywhere else today.

Michael Rolls

Lovely morning for a welcome change
