I left of my own free will at the dictatorial place it had become.
Not that it really matters, but actually you were banned due to your final erudite and accurate appraisal of the site in your final post in which you simultaneously resigned with dignity.

Good for you😊

I don't quite agree with that, Dex.
If you give notice in at work,  it doesn't mean you're sacked, it means you resign.
I gave my notice in at Azz's place, and wanted my account closed.   I was not banned.
I have still got a copy of my letter to this day.

Apart from that,  what are you doing up at 3 am???  Go to sleep.

£50 for the F-word?  That's a rip off.
Fortunately, I very rarely use that word... but I do have others which, presumably, would result in a lesser fine.

Just trying to get some Christmas party dosh for us all, JB.
After all,  it is much worse than just a 'damn'  or 'bugger'  type word, don't you think?

I applaud your choice of parting shot of a post, Mups.  In my anger, I just left without a word.  I suppose that if I had made a post to state my intention to all, it wouldn't have been seen by anyone for a couple of days or so because, as I mentioned, that is what Azz did to all of my posts.

If you're a bit short, I've got a stack of Embassy No 6 ciggie vouchers somewhere.

I think profanity filters are pointless. They are usually simple to defeat by using alternate letters which then looks stupid imo.

My favourite method was using Cryillic letters for vowels their a e i and o look identical to the eye but not to a filter that hasn't included profanities coded with both. No u but if you chose to be rather naughty the c in Cryllic looks the same too. It was fun on PF where I mentioned a pub called the Cock in but Cock was blocked for everybody else. I did let Phil and possibly crabby know how to  do it and said in one post that Trustee posters had been allowed to.

It is indeed.  Probably the only site I visit which allows 'free speech' in its entirety.
