That would be a kind thing .
Here in spain they are always happy for people to walk dogs .
The dogs home nearest to me has 500 dogs and it's not the only home in the vicinity .
I took a bag of dog food around there last week and was amazed at how many beautiful dogs were there .
I can't thing why people have abandoned them .

Son and daughter in law have a rescue, she'd been in a puppy farm.  She is like my daughter in law's shadow, she's still quite timid but better than she was.  She gets on ok with their other dog too.  They think she's about 4, she wasn't toilet trained, and that's taken a bit of effort.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I had 3 rescues all older dogs, all old English Sheepdogs. I don't think I could have another one because of my health issues, mostly I manage OK but if I go down, I go right down. We don't have a dog shelter up here, so I can't help out. I am going to see about getting involved in a couple things in the New Year, take up some of my time and keep me busier.

I won't have another dog because of my age as, with the best will in the world, at 80 my time to be fit enough to care for a dog has to be limited.

Very thoughtful, it's sad when a pet dies, but at least we can understand.  When a pet's owner dies, how do they understand?

As a kid, I was told the story of Greyfriars Bobby. A dog's real devotion to his master.

When Veronica died Fleur clearly couldn't understand why she couldn't find her mum, and just wouldn't let me out of her sight in case I disappeared as well
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me
