Quote from: Mups on Yesterday at 03:11:39 PMWell sorry to be a pessimist,  but I think this will carry on getting worse and worse.
All these boats have been planned for ages, and they are making someone very, very rich.
We must be a laughing stock,  and will very soon regret being the fools we are.

Apart from Graham King ?

Graham King, founder of the migrant-housing company Clearsprings Ready Homes, has become a billionaire due to rising profits from his company's contracts with the government to house asylum seekers. He spotted the business opportunity in the 1990s and has seen his fortune jump by 35% in the past year, reaching £1.015 billion. He is now ranked 154 on the Sunday Times Rich List.

Then there are the people smugglers .

What about the dinghy sellers ?
These are big boats someone must be selling them and taking them to the beaches of France .
They can't be getting them off Amazon ?

I believe they have before but as I said in this case the clip isn't enough to make a judgement IMO. His bosses would have had a lot more information.

Good luck
Thanks.  I noticed that when I tried to correct missing sections by replacing some of the text, when I looked back there was the missing text plus what I had since added again.

I have to go to the hospital now, but when I'm back I'll have a full read of all this.  Thanks again.

Quote from: klondike on Today at 07:13:08 AMIf the police don't back up their own officers when the need to get heavy handed for their own protection then they will become even less effective and fewer will want to become one. That said I don't doubt that some can be nasty sods. This was only a teenager if a wayward one and it was a Stanley knife - not knife but not as vicious as many are. A short video of only part of the confrontation makes it impossible to come to any conclusion IMO.
This rings clearly of failings at the top: those high-flying university graduates lacking common sense.

General Discussion / Re: Vets.
Last post by JBR - Yesterday at 09:51:30 PM
Quote from: Mups on Yesterday at 04:55:14 PMLater a campaign was started apparently,  to make it compulsory to scan ALL animals found,  whether they be dead or alive,  and quite right too.

I'm glad to hear that and I hope it succeeds.
Should one of our cats suddenly disappear and cannot be found, assuming the worst had happened and it was found dead, I'd find some solace in being informed rather than continue to worry.

Last post by JBR - Yesterday at 09:41:53 PM
Quote from: GrannyMac on Yesterday at 09:15:09 PMA member of the public rang for assistance for the officer because other youths had arrived and the officer had his hands full. The Police Officer was on TV with Nigel Farage earlier, he's appealing the dismissal.  I hope he wins.
So do I.
To be honest, I'm not sure what's happening with the police these days.  I hear so much about police trying to arrest people for doing nothing or for saying the wrong thing.  And now we hear of a copper who has been sacked for doing the right thing.
I look forward to hearing about this, and its consequences, on GB News.
