A report has been published about the fire that closed Heathrow airport and cut power to thousands of consumers which blames a leaking bushing insulator. This is an insulator which allows a high voltage line to pass through a roof or bulkhead etc. In this case it allowed rain to contaminate the transformer oil. Evidently it was known about but repairs were deferred.

Well I bet that's causing havoc, IMO only I think business's should fix these things not defer doing them.  :boo:
We still have miles of wild fires burning across the moors and forests, no word of how they started but I can guess, and all the while they're creeping closer to us. The heavy rain helped a lot last night but it's not enough. Apart from the fire service the farmers, land owners, and locals have been called on to help. Not good not good.

I forgot to mention that the fire occurred in March 2025, and the repercussions were that Heathrow remained closed for 28 hours and flights were held back all around the world. Some 9,000 consumers were also disconnected for several hours.
