The Chat Room / Re: The boring thread.....
Last post by Silver Tabby - Today at 07:59:45 AM
Hello everyone - am having a quiet day today. Yesterday I went with a friend to one of those very large 'Designer Outlets' on the edge of town. Interesting but totally exhausting - the osteoarthritis in my knees was really making itself known by the time I reached home. Had a restless night - which upset that cat - he stalked off in a huff to sleep somewhere else.

So - today I will drape myself gracefully among the cushions on the sofa, with or without cat, and ogle the delectable Martin Shaw. Changing DVDs and making cups of tea is as dynamic as I intend to be!

They are scared of them and are reluctant to act .
Pikeys are vindictive and will wreak revenge on the families of police .
There is a big camp near Reading where the police only go in in riot gear .

General Discussion / Re: Useless UN

Quote from: JBR on Yesterday at 10:58:36 PMMarge and I have been on holiday in Germany a number of times and have found the German people very amenable.  I have stumbled in trying to speak in German to them, and they do appreciate it (then help me out!).

I'd like to think that Hitler was a peculiarly nasty piece of work and, although he managed to persuade many people to support him, I'm sure that not every German was a Nazi.  The impression I get is that since we won the war, the German people are quite different to those who fell for the persuasive Hitler possibly through fear rather than admiration.

I deleted my post JBR, deciding I didn't want to be rude.

Quote from: Alex on Yesterday at 10:08:34 PMListen sunshine, don't 'speak' to me like that  !  I know quite a lot about Germany, the build up to war and their part in WWII.  I lived there for ten years, I speak excellent German and sometimes your 'attitude' frankly pisses me off.

What surprises me is that the Pikeys seem to be effectively above the law.

If I did what they do - parking up a caravan in the middle of a park, nicking things, leaving shit, ruin and a general mess wherever I stay - I'm sure I wouldn't get away with it.

Is it that they are a highly regarded specie or is it simply that the coppers are afraid of them?
