Anyone remember this ?

I remembered it but wasn't sure if it was me watching or one or other of my children so I looked it up. First aired 72-74 so it would have been repeats and could have been any of them. My bet it was one of my daughters as it's more a girly thing.

My parents got a TV when I was 9. My father held out til ITV was launched as he didn't want to splash out what was probably a fair amount at the time for just one channel.

I was 14 when we got a telly, 1960. My dad realised by then that he would enjoy it, and my mum certainly did. She loved Crossroads! I remember watching snooker with her, jn black and white.

I remember the Black Beauty music, my daughter may well have watched it.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I remember that music too.   I went next door to watch the coronation in 1953 as we didn't have a telly.

I remember both of those pieces of music.
I loved Black Beauty when I was young,  and believe it or not,  I still clearly remember the first paragraph of Anna Sewell's book, too.   I loved that book.

"The first place  I can well remember is a large field with a pond of clear water in it.
Rushes and water lily's grew at the deep end."

Funny isn't it,  how we can remember things from 50 yrs ago,  but can't remember where we put our keys this morning!

I still have a little copy of Black Beauty that was won as a school prize  by my aunt , who died young shortly before I was born .
She was artistic too , I am her namesake .

Cor,  that takes me back, Muddy.
I used to love that . . . .  and Lassie Come Home.

It's sad those sort of things don't seem to be on for telly for small kids any more..
