Not sure I see the point of a 'like'  really?
It's easy enough just to do a thumbs up if you like a post, surely?

Dex,  a thumb's up would also still show you a post had been read, wouldn't it.   :hmm:

I know.  But if a couple of other posts have been made since before someone else logs on and reads it, it'd kinda be a bit messy, if you catch my drift.

Whereas clicking on a like or thumbs up usually stay with the post itself, and is quicker to do that reply with a thumbs up post.

After all, I'm not suggesting it's used to like/agree with what someone's posted, but just to show that it's been seen.

Maybe the Lord chief justice could turn it on for a week or two, and if it doesn't work out he can turn it off.

I'm not fond of them myself but if people want one put up a poll (a feature that is turned on and virtually never used) If there is a reasonable majority I'll see if the option exists or there's a mod to add one and activate it. Won't happen till after the migration to the new server though which is imminent.

I've been taking the opportunity to tidy things up invisible to all that irritate me. All manner of things have been cobbled on quickly rather than properly which would make an upgrade to any new forum release a real pain and I like to keep software up to date. I would have moved to an updated server sooner if it weren't for the mess you can't see.

Done - in members only.

Hope the system  doesn't get  overloaded at the mad rush to cast ones vote 😬😬

When you said 'members only'   I clicked on the 'Members'   heading at the top of the page, and came up with the membership list!   Useless mare.

Found it after though,   and have voted.

With a small forum like ours surely it is so much nicer to see a remark made by another member..
A 'like' button seems very formal.. almost as if a person can't be arsed to answer..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

True.  My view is that sometimes I have nothing to say (.... sit down and breath slowly, I know that's a bit of a shock to read, yet alone be expected to believe 😬), but would like to acknowledge that I've read it.  Indeed, sometimes it may well be after others have posted replies already.
