Mostly friendly but...

  • Don't expect every post you make will be liked
  • Don't expect to like every post you see
  • Don't take the hump if somebody disagrees with your opinion

We have few enough members already and it seems several of those have decided to take a break mostly because one or more those 3 simple Dont's were ignored.

There are simple firearm rules too...

  • Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
  • Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy (or do not intend to shoot).
  • Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to fire.
  • Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Break enough of the firearms rules and somebody may get injured or killed

If enough people break some of the forum Don'ts what gets killed is the forum

Just sayin.

Emmmm, I take breaks from here always have, my breaks are from the whole internet as I don't want it taking over my life......As it tends to do.
Also I don't have WiFi down in my house in Perth so it's mostly blackout when I go, unless I use my phone. It's too fiddly so I seldom do.

Yes I've experienced all three of those at times, but not enough to make me leave.

People will take breaks for many reasons and I know why you do but I'm pretty sure some lately were down to one or other of those three.

I tend to not post if I have nothing to contribute .

I have added posts which have not apparently been interesting, but that also applies to many others I have seen.  It is perfectly normal not to see much of an interest in some posts as we are all different, so lack of a follow-up shouldn't really matter and certainly shouldn't put contributors off taking part.

I'd like to see more rude jokes, please!  (Perhaps a separate section which the ladies avoid?) 🤣

Quite right JB.  Although, sometimes, one may wish to change the gender one identifies as, so perhaps a "dual access" system could be added to ones permissions.

I don't take things too seriously.... If I see a topic that is of little interest to me.. I pass by..
I try not to comment on replies that are a bit 'off'.. but sometimes I can't help it..
I don't like bullying.. and unnecessary criticism of others..
I don't throw a wobbly or 'leave' because of anything another might say ...
I can look after myself when I have to..
I ain't scared of any of the men.. they are 'pussy cats'..
As Klondike said  'It's just a forum'
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I could add one. I've seen just about every variant you can imagine already.

Years ago when Google Adsense first arrived you could make quite a few bob from running their adverts. My main moneymaker was a campsite directory I called KwikBreaks there were a number of others one called YourJokes which specialised in rude jokes. I let them all lapse when the income slowed because I didn't keep up with the constant effort needed to keep them high in the search results.

This was the central image of the start page of the joke site underneath the YourJokes logo and We are....

I could put a section up but I think its likely it would upset more than it would please On the few occasions I have posted one of the picture jokes they were not well received.

Oooer  . . .  are you thinking of changing your gender now,  Dexy?

As for JBR  wanting a 'rude jokes'  section  . . .  I can imagine that quickly  going way too far.
But what do I know.    I'll say no more.

I make posts that I don't think anyone reads, and I miss others' contributions.  Not on purpose, but I dip in and out, apart from starting most days with brain teasers that usually only involve klondike. That's fine.

Pointless taking offence, or going off in a huff. Life's too short, just scroll on by 🥰
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

First thing I learnt on the first forum I ever went on was that I had to toughen up and not be so sensitive.
I'm still working on that one.

Taking breaks helps.

Did someone say something ?  😬😬

Anyway, I've mentioned it before and I'll suggest it again.... how about the idea of turning on the "like" button (assuming there is one), for the sole purpose of showing that you've seen and read a comment, even if you can't think of anything to reply with?

That way, at least we'll get to know if anyone has actually read it.

Well, if you're going to be aggressive about it to me, a poor and delicate (temporarily identifying as a) maiden in distress....   X

I think a Like Button would be useful. :upvote:
