The wind

Marge woke up overnight following a big bang.  No, a loud noise outside.
I seem to have slept through it all, and Marge didn't want to wake me.  Love Marge.
The bird table had been blown over and is now lying on the ground, looking a bit twisted too.
She went out, it seems, to have a proper look and I slept through the lot.
I haven't been out to look yet as it's pouring down.  Also some roofing material has blown off  a protruding window in our bedroom.
According to the weather app. the strong winds will continue all day, with rain.
I'm not going out to put the bird table up again, yet, because I'm sure it will blow over again.  The weather people say it will continue through the whole day.
Anyone else had such problems last night?

The awning I put over our back patio broke its support wires and was flapping around wildly.  Managed to take it down entirely during a brief break between the gusts.

#1 son used to have a big grape vine across the front on his house.

I've got his shredder as I've been getting some ivy down. I've told him he can borrow it.

Anyway I shall set out for the shops and if it is horrible just come back.

Pretty rough here as well.
I am surrounded by huge neighboring trees, and I am never sure whether they are a danger,  or a shelter.

We've lost a great slab of pebbledash! Going to be costly to fix the whole top half of the house. 💷💷
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Crikey.  I've never heard of that happening due to a storm.  Biggest expense will probably be the scaffolding.

Bird table back up again as the wind seems to have given up... I hope.
I put some seeds on it, but haven't see the birds using it yet.  Perhaps they didn't like the wind either and are hiding in the trees which, thankfully, haven't blown away.

Fed the fish in my pond earlier.  They scoffed it up.  So JB, the water in yours might not be too cold yet.

We're supposed to be getting Storm Chloe on Tuesday!

I haven't fed our fish for three days now.  Marge told me that until it reaches 12 degrees, they cannot digest it.   I did put some in earlier, even though it was still colder than 12, and they ate it all.  Of course, Marge may have got it wrong.  What do you think?

I think that the water temp takes longer to drop than air temperature.  But then again, Marge's sources might take that into account anyway.

May I suggest a simple solution JB?

Get a pond thermometer.  They're not expensive.
